Conversation with Giovanna Di Paola on the issues of remote working, in times of pandemic (and otherwise).

There are expressions, in the business community and the professional world in general, that seem to be brought about by fashions, rather than by actual events.

One of these, which we could translate as 'smart work', is 'smart working'.

But what are we really talking about?

If there is anyone in the Puglia region, and in Bari in particular, who can tell us about it with knowledge and actual experience in the field, it is the Coworking Manager of the Faro Futuro space, located at 18 Via Massaua in Bari.

It is indeed the case, in our opinion, to shed some light on the debate raging in all media, traditional and digital, on this subject. One wonders:

Is smart working really smart?

Is this something that is here to stay, or is it a passing fad?

And anyway: what are the issues that - beyond the simplifying labels - touch the daily agendas of professionals these days?

It is clear that the topic fully involves Co-working Spaces, and here we enter the field of direct experience of Giiovanna Di Paola, who has been involved full-time in the management of Faro Futuro since before its opening.

Thank you Giovanna for your time and your answers!

Faro Futuro - Giovanna: How do you say Smart Working in Bari?

G. Di Paola - (He smiles) In our Coworking Space we try to speak all languages, including Bari... but not only 🙂 🙂

The important thing is to be able to speak the language that professionals and businesses speak today, and I can guarantee that nobody pays much attention to catchphrases.

Concreteness, professionalism and service are the concepts we are asked for every day, and this is what we work on.

It is true, however, that there is increasing attention to the issues of remote working, we can confirm this.

Future Lighthouse - And has the local professional community understood your message, your proposal?

G. Di Paola - We are pleased to be able to say that yes, the professional community has fully responded and - even in pandemic times - we have so many requests that at times we struggle to process them.

Faro Futuro - What are Faro Futuro's proposals for those who - between quarantines, lockdowns and zones of various colours - often find themselves working from the home office (when there is one, otherwise it's the kitchen, the living room, the bedroom) during these months?

G. Di Paola - Here at Faro Futuro we have all kinds of solutions, articulated in fully sustainable proposals, ranging from very short-term to medium- and long-term use.

Our prices are also geared towards maximum cost/benefit ratio. I suggest giving it a try: working in a professional environment can really make a difference.

Future Lighthouse - Everyone resorts to video conversations, it is a constant in our days. Do you think this is a good idea?

G. Di Paola - Yes, it certainly is, but the working environment, services such as internet connection, the elements of a professional workstation, not to mention the ability to concentrate... all this is not solved by calls on Zoom, Meet, Skype!

Future Lighthouse - What is the basic idea of Future Lighthouse in all this?

G. Di Paola - Our basic idea is and remains to offer the best of the best in terms of structure, services and networking to the professional and economic ecosystem of our city and region.

And not only that, I might add, as we have more and more users from all over Italy as well!
